ABOUT

Troop 500 is part of the Boy Scouts of America, a non-profit organization. Over the last 60 years, the Troop has produced over 140 Eagle Scouts. Troop 500 is based in Point Loma and meets weekly during the school year on Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Westminster Church, at 3598 Talbot St. We are chartered by the Point Loma Rotary Association. The Troop hosts at least one campout each month, along with many community engagement opportunities. Annual treks include Model Rocket Camp, summer camp, and a canoeing or kayaking trip. We also backpack in the Grand Canyon and the Sierras. The mission of our troop is to teach outdoor skills, encourage advancement towards the Eagle rank, and build the future leaders of our community.
